I wrote the following questions in my journal on the night of February 21, 2004.

What is the truth?
What does the truth sound like?
Would I know it, if I heard it?

The following day I got the answers while talking with my friend Nikki in Waylon Jennings’ office on Music Row Nashville, TN.  Nikki is Waylon and Jessi's long time personal assistant.  Falling into our endless well of conversation I shared my above journal entry.

While exploring these questions some folks stopped by
the Graceland-Esq. landmark.  Nikki asked, “Would you play us a few songs? Here, use this. It’s one of Waylon’s old guitars.” I obliged. 3 songs later, I opened my eyes and there stood ‘Big Country’, 6'6" in a UPS uniform, who'd been delivering packages to stars like Waylon, Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash for the past 20 years.

“Son," he said, "I don’t know your name and I don’t need to. ‘Cause from now on, your name is Truth”.

With eyes still fixed on mine he continued, “I don’t need to know what the truth sounds like, to know it when I hear it.  So Truth, when are you going to be on David Letterman?”

Silently, Nikki and I turned to one another acknowledging my answers had just been delivered, in order, via a UPS clad messenger, just in case I had trouble reading the signs.

4 years and countless miles later I bellied up to the bar at the Ash Creek Saloon to pop the top on a bottle and let it all pour out.  With yet another set of questions on my mind.

Deep into preproduction on the biggest recording of my career, I was given word that 3 sponsors who had been funding the project, had their marketing and promotional budgets cut and would no longer be able to help with financing.  So this time my question was, "What now?"

My friend David, acting as a ‘Sage’ Bartender, felt my troubled mind.  I only wanted him to fill my glass and he only wanted to know the truth.
The truth is my songs are all true stories and not subject to compromise.

David said, "I believe in your music. I believe in you. How can I make a donation towards the CD, and help make this happen?”  I said “I don’t know man, how about one more on the house.”

David’s willingness to jump on board was inspirational and so I went home that night to figure out how to answer his question,  "How can I help?"

Recording was put on hold and 3 1/2 months later this site is my answer.  While the clock ticks on it's t
he continued support of friends and fans that has again made ‘Truth’ a possibility, by becoming a Fan-Funded CD.

In return for your donations I've come up with some great CRB style gifts and incentives.  Thank you for believing in 'Truth' and keeping the music alive!
